Why you Shouldn't Miss Ragam' 16 at NIT, Calicut

As yet another iteration of South India’s largest cultural festival dawns on us we bear witness to a stellar line of pro-shows that Kerala is yet to witness. Ragam is the annual cultural extravaganza put up by the students of National Institute of Technology Calicut. Its latest edition is to take place from April 1-3. This time around they have decided to step up their game with two DJs to collaborate on stage – Harrison and Ben Gold. The other acts in the limelight include the alt rock band from Chennai, SKRAT, that everyone is going crazy for, and the Bollywood music prodigy, Pritam who’ll be performing with his Coke studio ensemble. Standup comedian, Kenny Sebastian will also be doing a show on the 2nd of April at 5:30PM.

Harrison, the 23 year old from UK has stormed the EDM and progressive house music charts over the past year. In less than a year’s time he has released singles alongside Hardwell, Steve Aoki, VINAI, Dannic, Laidback Luke and many more. Straight out of Trance Nation comes their next performer, Ben Gold. A must see act and a festival favorite, Ben Gold’s name is a regular billing alongside Armin Van Buuren, Avicii, DeadMau5, Eric Prydz, Marcus Schulz, Above & Beyond, Gareth Emery & Ferry Corsten to name a few.

Artists

Pritam Chakraborty, aka Pritam, is a music director, composer, singer and instrumentalist par excellence. He will be performing with his ever best lineup including Antara Mitra, Aditi Singh Sharma, Sreerama Chandra and Nakash Aziz.

SKRAT is a name to reckon with in the rock music scene in India. “Our music is like carbon fibre — tougher than metal yet lighter than it at the same time!” is how the lead guitarist and vocalist TT describes the band. Famous for their original compositions, SKRAT will have you swinging to their tunes in no time.

With a line-up sure to leave you wonderstruck, Ragam is gearing up to put on a show of no comparison to celebrate life and the things that matter. The only thing that remains is for you to pack your bags, get geared up, put on your party hat and let us show you the best weekend of your life. A weekend filled with joy, love, peace, nostalgia, sugar, spice and everything nice, Ragam will bring out all the hidden gems that you have locked up within yourself all these years. Go crazy. Go desi. Carpe Diem.
