Why Attending a Music Festival Abroad will Seriously Change your Life

Posted at March 22nd, 2016 | by Shivani Goel | in

If you’re into the music scene and like attending such events then you must have explored festivals in your area and budget. With a bit of planning and saving it’s not too difficult to make your way across to Magnetic Fields Festival, Rajasthan, or Sunburn, Goa, depending on your preference. It’s even easier to budget your way to a mountain music festival like Parvati Peaking, Kasol or Zero, Arunachal Pradesh. They’re all unique and exciting and give you a host of new experiences to cherish. It’s not a huge culture change and doesn’t take much adjusting because it’s in your own country, you know the language and the people and how to deal with most situations that arise. You meet interesting people, some foreigners as well, listen to some good music, and make your way back to whatever city you’re from.

Magnetic Fields Festival, Rajasthan

Great experience right? Now imagine doing this in a whole different country. Where You are the foreigner, and You’re the interesting, exotic person that the locals from that place are meeting. It’s like the experience of attending a festival in your country times ten. The culture, languages, people, everything is different from what you’re used to. There will be a lot more challenges, and a Lot more to learn and experience. Different cities in India also offer you something unique, but something out of the country, like attending a festival in Croatia or Bali would be completely different. It’s better than even just taking a vacation at that particular place because a music festival would add so much to your scene.

Ultra Music Festival, Croatia

Yes, it will be more costly than attending a festival in India. But with careful planning and consideration, you can work out a good budget. We’ve done a series of budget articles to attend festivals in Europe and around that you can even manage in approximately INR 50,000. Festivals like Ultra Music Festival, Croatia or Singapore can be nicely managed in a budget. That’s a pretty decent price to pay to go out of the country and attend a music festival too. You need to plan well in advance though, as tickets for everything get more expensive closer to the date of the event. You can even make it to Tomorrowland, Belgium, or Ultra Music Festival, Miami if you can double the budget.

The sort of experience that you can take away from doing something like this is unparalleled to whatever you attend in your own country. Being out of your element but at a fantastic location can really open up your horizons. Be adventurous, don’t just stick to the people you came with. Check out our festival resolutions, and tips on how to save and how to meet new people at music festivals that will help you out even more and start planning which festival you will attend!
