Ultra Music Festival 2015: 7 moments that stood out

Posted at April 2nd, 2015 | by Karan Acharya | in Music

As the month of March draws to an end, so does one of the most iconic electronic dance music festivals; The Ultra Music Festival, Miami. Since its humble beginning in 1999, UMF has progressed in leaps and bounds and stands today as a destination for music craving fans from all around the world. UMF 2015 once again didn’t fail to impress, with 3 days of utter mayhem from top DJs, the festival truly etched its name is the EDM history.

Read on as Grapevine shares some of the greatest moments of UMF 15.

UMF 2015 started off on a not so memorable note as the rain played spoilt sport on Day 1, but that could in no way dampen the spirits of the ravers who stood by and cheered for their favourite artists. The rain caused 4 stages to temporarily shut but they soon opened shortly after.

The next thing that comes to mind when we think of Ultra, besides the music, is the fashion trends that have transformed over the years into one that truly reflect the positive vibes in the people at the festival.

The legend Carl Cox is a veteran in the EDM segment and much deservingly has his very own stage set to his requirements. Carl Cox and Friends enthralled the crowds on day 1 and 2.

Martin Garrix, the future of electronic dance music,  lived up to his number 3rd spot on the Dj Mag rankings by spinning out majority of unreleased tracks and still having people jumping to every beat. Adding a bit more glitz to his performance was Usher, who surely had no one ‘looking down’.

Icona Pop made a special appearance in Tiesto`s set as he was set to release his 3rd single from the album “a town called paradise” named “let’s go”.

Much to everyone’s surprise, the adorable Ariana Grande joined the list of special pop star performances by singing during Cashmere Cat’s set to promote their collaborations “Be My Baby” and “Adore”.

In what was probably one of the biggest surprises as Ultra 15, Skrillex was given the opportunity of headlining the festival and he sure did a great job of it. Another crowd puller was a performance by Justin Bieber himself, which did have a fair share of mixed response, but all in all entertained the crowd to a great extent. Accompanying them was Diplo, Diddy and Jack U as well.
