Top Five Skrillex Collabs #SkrillexWeek

Sonny’s success hasn’t ever been eclipsed by the hate that surrounds him. This guy has achieved so much with his own productions, but the impact of his collaborations has caused an explosive rise to his mainstream viability. And these are the following joint efforts with other the music veterans, we expect the dub-god to drop during his debut set in India!

Skrillex & Alvin Risk – Try It Out (Neon Mix)

Skrillex has redefined his horizons ever since his ‘Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites’ EP came out in 2010. He released a far more radio friendly version of himself with Alvin Risk and unleashed the ‘Try It Out’ EP in the recent past which contained three known mixes of the track and supposedly the original version is entitled ‘Neon Mix’, second the bass heavy, unruly ‘Try Harder Mix’, and third, the ‘Put ‘Em Up Mix’, which in turn incorporates elements of Risk’s own track Put ‘Em Up. The music video at a total length of three minutes and fifty seconds was directed by Tony T. Datis, who also worked on his previous projects including “Bangarang” and “First of the Year (Equinox)!”

A$AP Rocky feat. Skrillex, Birdy Nam Nam – Wild For The Night

Based on Skrillex’s “Goin’ Down” mix of the Birdy Nam Nam song “Goin’ In,” the dubstep heavy reggae-informed rhythms and syncopated sirens provide a dope counterpoint to ASAP Rocky’s flow. ‘Wild for the Night’ was released as the third single from his debut studio album ‘Long. Live. ASAP.’  and NME ranked it at number 20 on their list of the 50 best songs of 2013. Also, it backed an mtvU Woodie Award for the Best Collaboration in 2014! The accompanying video was shot in the Dominican Republic with Ellie Goulding’s Ex (no, not Rocky!) and featured cameos from the ASAP Mob where they hang around the streets with locals and rip it up in a club while Moore mans the decks.

Foreign Beggars feat. Skrillex – Still Getting It

There’s a limit to how much bass one can handle, but it seems the team of Foreign Beggars and Skrillex belong to the elite class who are born to defy the laws of nature!  The track was released on ‘The Harder They Fall,’ setting the Beggars’ drum n’ bass game against Skrillex’s grimy dubstep beats turning it into a malevolent mantra for aggressive self-actualizers. This collab of his sounds different on the surface of it ‘cause of the ‘gettin’ it’ vocal touch along with the melody that makes it “tolerable” to people who usually avert to his general sound!

Dillon Francis & Skrillex – Bun Up the Dance

The man behind 1/2 of Dog Blood is getting himself some Moombahton production credits and for some apparent reason, this Dillon Francis collaboration tells us Skrillex is no less than a chameleon as he blends into any genre! The slam dunk bass growls and power in the drums make this single from Dave Nada follower’s EP ‘This Mixtape Is Fire,’ a perfect track for a doomy dance workout! However, this latest release carrying Skrill’s name hasn’t received any official video yet, we hope it is as good as the beat!
Skrillex and Diplo with Justin Bieber – Where are you now

Honestly, I am not a Belieber. But thanks to Jack U, I’m not so sure anymore. Diplo and Skrillex together, have toned down everything you know about their individual dynamics and combined sharp dancehall stabs with a sad melody in a way that recalls the Timbaland era. Justin sings with complete emotion! The song was debuted for the first time at the 2015 Ultra Music Festival and has peaked within the top-ten of twenty international charts, reaching platinum status in countries such as the USA, Italy and in Bieber’s native Canada! To make its video a bit special, an event was held at the Jack Ü headquarters for their fans to customize the photo-shoots to be used, with crayons and colour pastels!
