Top 6 International Acts Not To Be Missed At The Bacardi Nh7 Weekender

There are a lot of international acts performing at the NH7 Weekender this year which can prove to be pretty darn confusing when you have to plan your gig schedule. So to make it a little bit easier we have formed a list (this list excludes big names like Megadeth, The Wailers and Mark Ronson) of the Top 6 International Acts Not To Be Missed At The NH7 Weekender :

1. Mogwai
Mogwai is a Scottish post-rock band, formed in 1995 in Glasgow. The band typically composes lengthy guitar-based instrumental pieces featuring dynamic contrast, melodic bass guitar lines, and heavy use of distortion and effects. Their music is noted for the absence of lyrics for the most part. The band were for several years signed to renowned Glasgow indie label Chemikal Underground, and have been distributed by different labels such as Matador in the US and Play It Again Sam in the UK, but now use their own label Rock Action Records in the UK, and Sub Pop in North America.

2. Flying Lotus
FlyLo (Steven Ellison) is an American experimental multi-genre music producer, electronic musician, disc jockey (DJ) and rapper. He is known for his Experimental hip hop, Alternative hip hop, Psychedelic and Electronic music. He often infuses Blues and Acid jazz into his music. He has worked with artists such as Erykah Badu, Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller and Radiohead’s Thom Yorke.

Zodiac Shit :
Top notch music production with surreal visuals.

Probably the most messed up video you will ever watch.


3. Rodrigo Y Gabriela
Rodrigo & Gabriela are a Mexican acoustic guitar duo whose music is influenced by genres including nuevo flamenco, rock, and heavy metal. Most of their recordings consist of instrumental duets on the classical guitar. They collaborated with Hans Zimmer on the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides soundtrack and also contributed to the soundtrack for the Shrek prequel, Puss in Boots. In 2010 they even performed at The White House for President Barack Obama.

4. Hidden Orchestra
Hidden Orchestra is the solo studio project of Scottish multi-instrumentalist composer/producer Joe Acheson, whose albums and live shows feature a wide variety of guest musicians from all kinds of musical backgrounds who make use of improvisation, natural sounds and contrasts combined with electronic effects which is supposed to make the music emotional and energetic.

Vorka :
An ethereal track with a montage of labourers.


Antiphon :
An ode to adventure.


5. Thumpers
Thumpers are an alt. pop duo based in London and formed in late 2011. Their first track, “Sound of Screams”, appeared online in April 2012 and their debut, sold out show followed in September 2012 at the Sebright Arms in Hackney. Live the duo are joined by an interchanging cast of friends and musicians to bring their collective sound to the stage. So far the band have shared stages with Slow Club, Two Door Cinema Club, Chvrches, Kwes., and MS MR. Their music tends to be buoyant and youthful.

Unkinder (A Tougher Love) :
An upbeat track about hopeful love.


Sound Of Screams :
A song about time and life.


6. Acollective
Acollective is a 7-piece band and social movement, fronted by Roy Rieck and Idan Rabinovici. Their music is  a self-described mix of “boogied-folk, electronic-jazz and a Middle Eastern-bluesy twang.” Formed in 2008, the band’s early shows became a weekly cult gathering in Tel-Aviv, and they were soon playing sold-out shows – establishing a loyal fan-base and gaining critical acclaim and extensive airplay in Israel – all this without any support or plan of any sort.
