Synthetic Alcohol Is Here To End Hangovers

Posted at September 26th, 2016 | by Yash Vikram Singh | in

Alcohol is great, it gets you where you need to go, loosens you up and makes sure you have a good time. Now imagine all this minus the effects it has on your liver or heart. No headaches, dry mouth, and no nausea when you wake up feeling like you’ve been scorched in hell the next morning.

A professor at the Imperial College in London is working on a synthetic alcohol that will have the desired effects, without the crappy side effects.

“They’ll dispense the alcosynth into your cocktail and then you’ll have the pleasure without damaging your liver and your heart,” Nutt says. “We know where the good effects of alcohol are mediated in the brain, and can mimic them,” he says. “And by not touching the bad areas, we don’t have the bad effects.” A nontoxic alcohol that doesn’t let drinkers get blotto could save a lot of money,Time reports.

Professor Nutt has created over 90 varieties of ‘alcosynth’ so far.
