Study Suggests That Music Has The Same Effect As Sex Or Drugs

Thanks to peeps over at McGill university now we know that listening to music has the same effect on our brain as opoids and endorphins. According to the lead author Daniel Levitin,  “the first demonstration that brain’s own opioids are directly involved in musical pleasure.”

 

 

The researchers derived on this conclusion by taking 17 cases in account; ‘pleasure gained from music is akin to having sex, taking MDMA, or eating tasty food.’ Participants were allowed to choose any music they like, “reliably produced intense feelings of pleasure for them, including but not limited to the sensation of chills.”
