Sound Remedy Is Retiring From Music

It seems like the latest trend is to retire from music right now. Avicii‘s tragic retirement seems to have sparked a trend. This will be Sound Remedy‘s final year of playing shows although after the long explanation, we’re still not sure why. Check out the full statement below and mourn the loss of yet another producer form the music industry.


It’s with a heavy heart that I announce that 2016 will be my final year playing shows.

First off and by far most importantly, I want to say thank you. Thank you for supporting me and helping me achieve my primary life goal of becoming a successful musician. Thank you for sharing my music, attending my concerts and spreading positive vibes with me on my journey through music and life. I can’t thank every single one of you enough for helping me turn my burning desires and dreams into reality over the course of these past 6 years.

Even though my mom doesn’t use the internet or own a computer she has been the single most supportive and inspirational person in my life and nothing I do would be possible without her so thank you mom. Thank you to all my siblings and my dad as well, even though he said I wouldn’t make it in music (painful medicine but just what the patient needed). Huge thank you to my Grandma Sarah who has always guided me with great wisdom and who has just always made me feel good about myself. A special thank you to my former and only manager Ziggy Chareton, who pretty much taught me every single thing about the music industry and without his guidance and help none of this would have been possible. He also helped me maintain good physical and mental health throughout my musical journey. Thanks to my former agents and all the promoters who booked me. Thanks to all the college kids who have had me play their parties over the years.

I may add some pacific north west, texas and California dates for 2016 but we will see.

If you are interested in booking me for any private parties or events in general contact as 2016 will be the last year that I play shows.

Lastly, here is some advice to all of the producers out there.

1) Believe in yourself and understand that nothing can get in the way of a willful and unrelenting human who has their sights set on a goal. You can accomplish anything you want to in life but you have to work extremely hard for it. I believe in you.
2) Register your music with BMI or ASCAP AND SoundExchange to collect additional royalties beyond the direct mechanical ones.
3) Try and avoid signing any contracts. The industry is full of predatory leaches who will try and lock your talent down and monetize you. Stay free. We have all the tools we need to independently make millions of dollars and I would know because I did it.
4) Distrokid and Tunecore are the best services to use to distribute your music by yourself (without the help of the greedy but sometimes necessary record labels).
5) Great music is the most important aspect of your career, but marketing and surrounding yourself with powerful and connected people are close seconds. Focus on the music, believe in yourself and STAY POSITIVE.
