Radiohead Releases Remastered Version Of OK Computer After 20 Years In The Most Riveting Way

Radiohead put out a mysterious tweet featuring a floppy disk, marking 20 years since the release of their epic album OK Computer. It seems that they have reverted their official website to the 1997 version, and put out a remastered version of the album.

They included a link to their website which states on a basic homepage, “This is the Radiohead website [from about 1997].” The only other text on the page says, “I don’t care about a website that goes all over the place in a meaningless series of loops and is filled up with discarded ephemera from the broken hard drives of Donwood & Tchock. Where can I buy OKNOTOKCOMPUTER?”

Obviously we DO want be led all over the place in a meaningless series of loops so we click on the Radiohead website from 1997 and it takes you down a rabbit hole of surreal pages, leading you to their landing page in a variety of ways. You get to see a series of illustrations with cryptic text messages which will make you curious to explore the website more and more.

The remastered album is available as a box set, on vinyl, on CD, and as a 320k mp3, 16-bit WAV, or 24-bit WAV download. Each format includes the original album remastered from analog tapes, 3 unreleased tracks, and 8 B-sides. The box edition includes three 12-inch records, a hardcover book of Radiohead’s artwork, a notebook of Thom Yorke’s lyrical brainstorms, a sketchbook from Donwood and Tchock, and a cassette tape of archival and demo tracks.

So go forth, explore.
