Pune is hosting a new Fort Festival this February

The first edition of the Future Theory Festival, an exciting new electronic music festival, is being held in Pune this February. The venue, a 17th century fort an hour’s drive from Pune, is Fort Jaghavgadh, a heritage property which has been converted into a luxury hotel in the last decade, while still maintaining the essence of the place. Maharashtra is the land of forts, but this is one of the only ones where you can actually check-in and experience the nostalgia.

On the 27th and 28th of February, as the sun sets, the fort will come alive with the electronic tunes of some of the best homegrown artists. Sandunes, Sickflip, Kumail, Hamza, and M.Mat, are lined up with many more to be announced. There even be some thoroughly curated international artists. Alexander Robotnick from Italy has been popular since his track releases in the 80’s, and he’s been playing at festivals worldwide. Petar Dundov from Croatia is a trance artist, but he’s also so much more. He says, “My ultimate goal as a producer and musician is to bridge the world of inspiration and physical world to the extent where the listener wouldn’t be able to distinguish between the two. Music has this unique property to communicate deep emotions that are inherently in all of us. We just forgot how to use them, and my search is an attempt to revive those emotions where we all resonate as one.” We’re very excited for the rest of the lineup.

Travel back in time on the grounds of this gorgeous fort, which is set on 25 acres of land. There is a lot to explore and experience and this seems like the sort of festival that will become an annual event. Check out the event page, website for more details and watch this space for updates.
