Music Festivals give life to this otherwise mundane world and entering the magical arenas for a couple of days is always a breath of fresh air. India is no stranger to some beautiful festivals and we’ve even had some massive international events coming down to the country for some Indian editions. From homegrown festivals like Magnetic Fields Festival to imports like DLDK, here are some that you need to plan for this year!
Digital dancehall / electro reggae pioneer MC Zulu is doing his debut India tour this weekend and hitting up Raasta Mumbai and New Delhi for some seriously chill vibes!

One of the hottest properties, synonymous with Trap music are making their way down to India this weekend and we can’t wait! Xoaxtron & Vyper will be Running The Trap in Delhi, Mumbai & Bangalore for a massive tour this weekend. Inceptor of Sunburn, Shailendra Singh, piqued the curiosity of the nation when on January 1, 2017, he launched a mysterious countdown clock on the website of his latest entertainment endeavour, Guestlist4Good. Block your calendars for Dec 1 | 2 | 3, 2017, because you won’t want to miss The World’s Biggest Guestlist Festival. The three-day event will unite the world of entertainment and music, right here in India, for the benefit of Indian children. Hardwell is already confirmed on the lineup and more are yet to come!

After a hiatus of over half a decade, music maestro A.R. Rahman will embark on a massive stadium tour spanning across four cities between November and December this year. A. R. Rahman ENCORE – The Concert, in association with MTV will be a fully seated event and will be held at the most iconic venues in each city to enthral a combined audience of over 100,000 people.

Building on the global success of its pioneering music partnership with Boiler Room, Budweiser Experiences introduces BUDx – three days of workshops, talks, masterclasses and live DJ performances co-curated by Boiler Room– in New Delhi from December 6-8th.
The underlying focus of BUDx is to bring fans and artists closer together in a collaborative, creative experience around emerging electronic music culture. Through its structure and content, BUDx puts the spotlight squarely on the development of electronic music in India as a tool of social cohesion and empowerment. It is also an extension of the collaboration that brought Boiler Room to India at the end of 2016, and continues to champion the local scene and electronic music communities in India.

Bacardi Nh7 Weekender is quoted as the “happiest music festival” and we’re in total agreement, but it’s also a more than that. With 40+ artists usually performing at the each of the major venues, music is definitely the central theme, but there is a lot more going on for the attendees. From the ever-present Ferris wheel, to unique mocktail bars, there is a lot to experience. It happens in many venues across the country, and this year the main editions are hitting up Pune and Meghalaya, and Pune is still coming up!

2017 brings you the fifth edition of Magnetic Fields Festival and you need to experience the ethereal vibe of the palace. It’s three days of living in a flurry of music and magic that no other festival can compare to. Set in a 17th century mahal in Alsisar, Rajasthan, you’ll be transported back through the years because of the infrastructure and decoration.

Enchanted Valley Carnival is a two day festival full of brilliant performances, fun activities, and endless music. Major Indian and international artist performances, fun stalls and activities, there’s a lot happening each time. It usually happens in December in and we’re looking forward to this one!

Venue: NESCO Center, Mumbai
A brand new property descending onto to Goa this December, TimeOut72 is the brainchild of event professionals and music enthusiasts with over 30 years of collective event experience. They’re revealed a stellar lineup so far with artists like Martin Garrix, Jason Derulo, and Wiz Khalifa headlining the event, and you can check out their website to stay updated!

Venue: Vagator Beach, Goa
Sunburn is probably the most popular and well known music festival in India and this year is their 11th edition. They’ve been hosting their flagship edition in Goa each year, although last year they branched out to Pune. It’s definitely not going to be in Goa this year, but the venue hasn’t been announced yet. Stay tuned for details!

Above & Beyond‘s deep house imprint Anjunadeep is known for putting out the most frisson-inducing electronic music and their roots are deeply embedded in India and it’s magic. Sharing it’s name with Goa‘s Anjuna, the label is returning to India for two shows in Goa and Mumbai on the 29th and 30th of December respectively. The tickets will be out for sale on Friday, and the lineup is yet to be revealed, but we’re pretty sure it will not disappoint.
