The Ballard Estate of South Mumbai is open for the first time as a venue for organizing commercial events. The Ballard Estate Festival started on January 23, and will be conducted every weekend, from 11 AM to 11 PM till May 2016 with the aim of being seen as the biggest lifestyle and cultural extravaganza witnessed by the people of Mumbai. The festival will then be closed to the general public for a few months and then make a comeback in October 2016 till May 2017. It’s slated to become a standard event for the next 3 years starting from 2016.

The festival will be divided with 5 zones dedicated to different types of experiences; a massive food court, entertainment arena, flea market zones, kids area, and the silent zone (theatre and after parties). The open-air theatre is one of the best highlights of the festival and should not be missed. You can enjoy special screenings of movies under a blanket of stars, with cordless headsets in their sound-free theatre.

2-1000x506There’s a giant flea market section for the shopper in you. From funky mojris, to homemade candles, and gourmet desserts, there is a lot to browse through. Assortments of quirky Indian products are available. The food festival offers mouthwatering delicacies of special dishes of Maharashtra. Apart from this, some of the city’s best restaurants are serving their fare. The Ballard Estate Festival will also bring you a rad mix of live performances by homegrown Indian artists like Bombay Bassment, Indus Creed, Nucleya, Anish Sood, Raghu Dixit, and Vasundra Sharma for you to party it up.
