Mumbai's Biggest Youth Festival Was A Home-Run

Over 7000 people got together for the biggest youth festival Mumbai has witnessed last month! Punjabi sensation Guru Randhawa headlined it alongside Divine who has created waves in the rapping movement in India time and time again. It was Guru Randhawa’s first ever performance in Mumbai.

The celebrity-packed festival was kick-started by the unveiling of the banners in January by the lead cast of the Bollywood flick- Aiyaary; Siddharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh. Alegria featured more than 90 student centric events in categories ranging from performing and fine arts to management and sporting events. These events were judged by some of the most known faces in Indian entertainment such as Evelyn Sharma, Sahil Khan, dance group MJ5, Djs Nina and Malika, Divya Agarwal, Mumbai City FC players Rafa Jorda & Leo Costa, supermodel Alesia Raut and Siddhaanth Surryavanshi, dancers Melvin Louis and Sonali Bhadauria to name a few. Along with all these competitions, there were enriching workshops and technical events, giving students an opportunity to learn and excel in something new such as VR experiences, Hackathon, 3d printing, drone piloting,
theatre among others.

It was truly a versatile festival as it featured Bollywood movie promotions of “Sonu ki Titu Ki Sweety” & “Dil Junglee”. Alegria has always been popular for its DJ events and this year the lineup was even more spectacular.
On the 9th of February, students thronged to watch the performances of the king of Bollywood mashups DJ Chetas, dance music legend Anish Sood and the ‘Udd Gaye’ sensation Ritviz driving the audience crazy with their perfect fusion of Indian beats and Electronic dance music.

Alegria 2019 could only turn out to be so much more.
