Joel Zimmerman freezes Social Media, considers killing off 'Deadmau5'

Joel Zimmerman or Deadmau5 as we better know him, has been the talk of the EDM industry off late and this time not for his music but for yet another Twitter related issue. In the past few days he had been posting tweets on his plans to end the deadmau5 brand altogether and on December 17 he went one step further and removed everything post-August from his public Twitter, and has made all other tweets protected.

Joel is a very expressive person and goes ahead and tweets anything he personally believes is wrong without holding back a single thought. This has often got him into altercation with several fellow musicians in the past like the Aaron Carter feud, his Krewella Halloween troll, and ofcourse his recent rant on Justin Beiber.

But his latest move has truly raised a lot of eye brows and fans really don’t know what to expect in the days to come. Deadmau5 who is really active on Twitter and uses it as a means to listen to new tunes from musician as well as engage with fans, it is unclear what he intends on doing next.

This is what Deadmau5 posted on twitter:

meh. considering killing off the “deadmau5” bullshit and just start something new. did it before, can do it again. f**k it. why not.

He then moved onto Facebook and wrote, “fuck ‘social media’. the only thing it’s useful for is promoting, advertising, and more advertising. As far as being a human being on social media, forget about it. you’re just another number we can all add into our little follower count, that ultimately adds up to NOTHING i require to make music.

So, ill [sic] just leave this shit for management to pump out advertisements and promotions just like the rest of the sheep. ive got some fences to jump.

Now, we aren’t sure what Deadmau5 is really upto but his last does give us some idea. He tweeted and we quote “Peace out. brb. 2017
