Jay Z is not one of those artists who are big on interviews. He hasn’t given many over the years so it came as a shock when we learned that he will be sitting down with New Yor Times for a very detailed conversation. And now that it has actually happened, our latest revelation is that the interview itself was even more shocking.
Jay Z got real and talked about several things where light needed to be shed. Apparently, it may not look it but he is still trying to mend fences with Kanye West, and still thinks of him as his little brother.Another great one was that he has music in store with Beyonce and will be releasing it soon in the near future.
“I [talked to] Kanye the other day, just to tell him, like, he’s my brother. I love Kanye. I do. It’s a complicated relationship with us,” he told Baquet. [W]e’re both entertainers. It’s always been like a little underlying competition with your big brother.”
He said;
“We were using our art almost like a therapy session. And we started making music together,” he explained. “And then the music she was making at that time was further along. So her album came out as opposed to the joint album that we were working on. Um, we still have a lot of that music.”
