International Festivals We Wish Would Happen in India

Posted at May 5th, 2016 | by Shivani Goel | in

India has it’s share of amazing music festivals like Magnetic Fields and Sunburn but there are a lot of international festivals which make us drool and we would fly out for in a second if we had the opportunity. Considering the logistics, it’s not possible for everyone who wants to attend international festivals to actually go for them, so here are 10 dream festivals that we wish would come to India!

Ultra Music Festival

Ultra Music Festival is one of the biggest festivals in the world, and it’s flagship event in Miami just got voted the #1 festival in the world. They have a lot of editions worldwide, and an Indian edition is not entirely impossible! Fingers crossed!

It’s one outrageous EDM event and every Indian music lover probably has it on their bucket list. The festival has over 15 stages of music, giant disco balls, volcanoes, and industrial sized confetti.

Coachella is celebrity haven and is full of the most star studded lineup with an infrastructure to envy. Giant wheels, mammoth butterfly structures, and many other marvels are a part of this beautiful festival.

Burning Man

It used to be an off-the-grid underground festival which would remind you of the Mad Max movie, and now it’s transformed a popular post-modern fantasyland with pyrotechnics and last minute surprise lineups.

One of the most popular festivals in the UK, it’s a place for chill music, hippies, and a whole lot of weed. Glastonbury is untouched by the modern pop culture and by the last day it’s usually a muddy heap of hippies.

Mutant strains of underground music come together for Europe’s largest Soundsystem Culture festival. It’s in a stunning setting next to the Adriatic and it’s the perfect festival for bass lovers.

In a charming island in Budapest, Sziget attracts people from all over the world. 50 venues and 200 performances in 7 days is dizzying and magical. It’s a musical melting pot and there’s a lot on offer.

Lollapalooza has become a massive musical experience in the states akin to the likes of Coachella. It started in 1991 as a musician’s tour and has converted into a full scale amazing music festival!

Governors Ball

It’s not as big as Coachella or Lolla but the artists that show up often trump other lineups. It’s right in the middle of a bustling city so you don’t lose yourself to the festival, rather you can lose yourself to the city.

Holy Ship!

One of the biggest cruise festivals in the world, it’s a 3 night, 4 day festival in Miami. It kicks off in the city and happens twice a year. Wouldn’t you just love to sail around the Indian Ocean on a massive musical party ship?!
