Why You Should Attend 'The Local Train' Live

Posted at April 15th, 2016 | by Shivani Goel | in

The Local Train is an indie-rock band now based in Delhi which was founded in 2008 by college students who lived in Chandigarh and Pachkula. They’ve performed all over the country and are popular for their hit singles, explosive live performances, and edgy music videos. They released their latest album ‘Aalas Ka Pedh’ in September 2015 and it has much loved tracks like Aaoge Tum Kabhi which was even featured in the movie ‘Angry Indian Goddesses’.

They’ve performed at some of the best venues in the country like Hard Rock Cafe and have headlined festivals for IIT Roorkee, FrameFlixx Goa, RIMT Punjab, and Amity University and are considered to be the defining new face of Hindi rock. The band members include frontman Raman Negi on vocals and acoustic guitar, Sahil Sarin on the drums, Paras Thakur on lead guitar, and manager Ramit Mehra on the bass. They have amazing stage presence and are masters of their art.

Their meteoric rise is because of their fresh originals as well their soulful covers of favourites like Rahman and Lucky Ali. Their first original Choo Lo was an instant hit and received the National Award which was conferred by Nagesh Kukunoor. Their demo records have created a sensation online and they’ve created quite a stir in the Northern Circuit.

They experiment with new sounds and old, and they’ve evolved over the years without restricting themselves to genres but choose to express themselves in their mother tongue, Hindi. Raman Negi is over the moon about their hard work paying off, “For the past many years, we have investing all the money we made into making videos as we feel that is the way forward for any band to get noticed.”
