B.L.O.T! is Basic Love of Things, a duo from New Delhi best known for their transcendental audio-visual live sets. DJ/Producer Gaurav Malaker and VJ/Designer/Visual Artist Avinash Kumar founded B.L.O.T! and in the few years they’ve been active on the scene they’ve truly made a name for themselves in India’s underground electronic music scene with their art installations, mix media sets, and performance properties. Gaurav is also the founder of Qilla Records, and Avinash is the founder of Quicksand Studio. Together they’ve toured all across the country playing at major festivals like Sunburn Goa and Magnetic Fields Festival, as well as played at music festivals in Berlin, London, and Geneva.

B.L.O.T!’s debut album Snafu, was released in 2013 and signed to Universal Music India. With the successful release of this, the duo leaped forward in the music industry, experimenting into being the unique outfit they are today. The Deccan Herald stated that, “Interestingly, BLOT’s films could belong anywhere from a nightclub to a museum of modern art,” and we couldn’t agree more. You can kick back, relax and play their music in the background, or you can be totally amped up and groove to it all night!

They also co-founded their own interdisciplinary festival UnBox, which has been happening annually since 2011. They play more than a 100 gigs a year in India and abroad and also collaborate with a variety of artists and bands like Nucleya, Peter Cat Recording Co., Kohra, and more! They’ve even worked on the music agendas of brands like Puma, Absolut, SuperDry, and Adidas Originals.
They’ve been featured in international youth culture documentaries, done creative collaborations like “Aaina” on the TV show The Dewarists in 2013, and overall pursue their unique genre of music by exploring, experimenting, and even organising workshops in India and abroad. They’ve won a lot of awards like the VH1 Soundnation Award for the Best Electronic Act 2014, MyFav Awards 2016, for Artist of the Year and Best Techno DJ.

B.L.O.T! keeps doing shows all across India so catch them live in your city for a truly unique experience!
