Let’s go all desi and countdown the 10 Indie Bands you must listen to at the NH7 weekender this year:

 

Spud In The Box

The six-piece Mumbai based Indie-rock band formed in 2011 got to perform at the MAD Festival in Ooty the same year. Playing atop the Red Bull Tour Bus in India, they were the first act to do so.

 

Soulmate

The band from Shillong was formed back in February 2003. The band has gigged all around the world, France, Memphis TN., Rhode Island is to name a few.

 

Parvaaz

The Band from Bangalore is known for their Kashmiri and Urdu lyrics. They have performed at The Great Indian October Fest and The Fireflies Festival Of Music held in 2012.
Begum

Consisting of Kshitij Dhyani on bass, Karan Singh on drums and keys and Kartik S Pillai on Guitars and Vocals, Begum was formed in Delhi.

Maati Baani

The Duo of Nirali Kartik and Kartik Shah will feature musicians from UK, NZ, Kutchh and Europe for their forth video series. The Duo collaborates with Street musicians, folk artistes and top musicians in each of their songs.

The Indie-acoustic duo was formed in Delhi, they are said to enjoy experimenting with harmony and writing about significant life experiences.

Formed in 2006, the Chennai based band has played over 100 gigs in cities like Mumbai and Reading, England. The band is known for their fantastic live performances.
Bombay Bassment

Formed in 2010, the band consist of Bobkat (Robert Omulo, MC), Levin (Levin Mendes, drums), Ruell (Ruell Barretto, bass) and DJ Chandu (Chandrashekhar Kunder, samples/percussion).
The F16s

One of the most promising young bands in India, The F16s was formed in 2012 in Chennai. After winning the Converse Rubber Tracks contest in 2014 the band recorded at their studio in Brooklyn, NY.
