iHeart Music Awards Adds a New 'Dance Artist of the Year' Category

Posted at February 12th, 2016 | by Sarangh | in

The impact made by electronic dance music over the past few years has been substantial enough to say that it is undoubtedly the most-preferred and most-listened to music of this generation. Spreading over vast and diverse genres, electronic dance music is that globe which has encompassed several tens of millions of fans around the world in spite of the fall of the team behind the world’s biggest electronic dance music festival Tomorrowland. To add on to all this success, electronic dance music found a new listing in the iHeart Radio Music Awards with a nomination for the “Dance Artist of the Year”.  The nominees include several big names in the electronic dance music circuit viz-a-viz Calvin Harris, David Guetta and Zedd as they seem to reflect the choice of the American masses. Along with these names, the American maestro Diplo is nominated twice, alongside Skrillex as Jack U and also as Major Lazer.

Along with this, “Dance Song of the Year” returns this year as well, with top songs by Jack U, David Guetta and Major Lazer being nominated, while “Waves” by Mr.Probz and “You Know You Like It” by DJ Snake and Aluna George’s hit also being nominated for the dance song of the year. iHeart Radio Music Awards turns three this year and will be broadcasted live on April 3 through TNT, TBS and TruTV.
