Hits and Misses of Harley Rock Riders with Megadeth

Posted at November 5th, 2015 | by Guest Writer | in

The VIth edition of the Harley Rock Riders just concluded and the author was present to experience it firsthand. Here is an overview of the event for those who weren’t able to make it.

HIT: Stellar lineup

Stellar lineup including Megadeth, The Wailers, plus 14 other Indian bands!

HIT: Truly underground vibes

An abandoned warehouse converted into a concert venue? Sign me up twice!

HIT: Stunning Bikes

Stunning exhibition of Harley Davidson bikes and riders showing off their custom mods and revving to demonstrate their loud exhausts.

HIT: Great ambience and lighting

MISS : Mismanagement and hence the wait

There was mismanagement in organization as both stages were really close to each other and they realized too late that two bands couldn’t perform simultaneously as the sound would clash. Also there was a school close by that had exams. This led to the cancellation of 4 bands and also a late start on the first day. This is the second time something like this happened in the same month at on OML event the first being when it rained during the Red Bull Tour Bus forcing the concert to be cancelled midway as sound and lighting equipment started shorting out.

MISS:  Sound System

The biggest disappointment was the sound. We could barely make out what the bands were playing as it just sounded like chaotic noise especially on the first day as the lineup consisted of a majority of Metal Bands.

MISS: Expensive FnB

The food/drinks were extremely expensive and not worth the money. There was a huge crowd drinking alcohol from a local store right outside the venue.

MISS: No parking facility

Though the organizers could have provided parking space they did not, causing huge traffic jams and general chaos as the locals wondered why their area had been taken over by people clad in black with huge beards.
