Hear The Sounds NASA Recorded & Sent To Aliens In Space

In 1977, two Voyager spacecrafts were sent on a mission into space by NASA. These spacecrafts were stocked up with photographs, notes, and two phonograph records with sounds of human life as a way to convey with anyone or anything that came across these.

The reason of doing this as stated by NASA was that if the spacecrafts were to ever encounter alien life, that they’d be able to have a glimpse into human life with sounds recorded on these records. These records have now been uploaded onto the NASA SoundCloud.

The sounds include greetings to the universe in over 50 different languages ranging from Urdu to Bengali. It also included such random sound selections as infants crying, sound of laughter, a mom kissing her child, a heartbeat, wind and rain.
