Music Festivals May Return To Goa This Year

Finally some good news regarding the state of Nightlife in Goa. After various disheartening reports coming in about new laws and restrictions set on the wild nightlife scene in the territory, it seemed like the much loved party capital of the country was no longer going to retain it’s title. First major festivals like Sunburn and Supersonic were banned from being held there, then rebel parties joined hands to end all dance music scenes in Goa, then they wanted to ban all late night parties completely, and eventually even there was a restriction banning drinking at the beaches and other public places.

Now there seems to be some reversal in fortunes as according to Minister for Tourism, Manohar Ajgaonkar, the Goan government is planning on making the it a music festival destination. Apparently the tourism department will be forming schemes to promote all forms of music through said festivals, and they’ll also be identifying special zones where late night scenes will not be an inconvenience to the locals.

Now it seems that the Goa that we’ve known and loved is coming back, and will become the usual laid back, music oriented scene that it always was.
