G Hacks: How To Get Spotify In India On iPhone & Android

Posted at August 22nd, 2017 | by Sidhantha Jain | in Entertainment, Featured, Technology

While Soundcloud is on a continuous downfall and YouTube can’t play videos in the background yet, you’re not left with many choices for listening to your music on the go. Applications like Saavn, Gaana and Wynk are really popular choices in India, however, their catalogue is extremely limited. Especially when it comes to dance music albums, they’re not very well equipped with the latest releases. That’s where Spotify kills its competition like Skrillex but unfortunately it is officially unavailable in this country. (Funnily its tag line is: Music for everyone)

Today, we’re going to provide you with a step by step tutorial after which you can login on with your Android device or an iPhone to avail the free services of Spotify.

P.S. Apple music is almost at par with Spotify, however, you’ll need to input your card details to use the three month trial version.

I performed did the following on a One Plus Two running Android 6.0.1

  1. Download the Spotify app from the web . You can download a cracked version or the beta version, it is up to you. The beta applications have advanced features but oftentimes they’re unstable. You even have the choice to get the official app from Google Play. For this you’d be required to make a new ID with credentials of a country where Spotify is available. We suggest you to download it from a third party store to avoid unnecessary complications.
  2. Open your file manager and install the APK file. If you try to login, you won’t be able to do it as of now.
  3. Install a Virtual Private Network (VPN) application like Tunnel Bear from Google Play and create a free account. Login to change location from India to the United States
  4. Now you can either use Facebook to sign up or create a new account. Once you’ve successfully logged in, you can access the Spotify database.

I followed the below mentioned procedure on an iPhone SE with iOS 10.3.3.

  1. In order to download the Spotify app on an iOS device (jailed), you will require an Apple ID which would let you access the US App Store. Simply carry out the below mentioned steps:
    –  Log out of your current Apple ID.
    –  Go to the App Store and click on ‘Get’ for a free application.
    –  Create a new Apple ID and choose the country as United States (try and fill authentic details as far as possible.)
    –  Verify your email.
  2. Download a VPN application like Tunnel Bear from the App Store. Create a free account and switch location from India to the United States.
  3. Now download Spotify and try logging in using either your Facebook account or by creating a new account.
  4. Voila, you’ve easily got Spotify on your iOS device now!

It is worth mentioning, you’ll only be able to use the premium version for free during the first seven days after which you have to subscribe to enjoy the ad-free experience.
