Come 2018, we’ve laid our eyes upon a plethora of elusive artists that have gone from mediocrity to wild sensations and we hope that we have just witnessed more of the very same. British viral popstar HRVY was just in India and had an absolute knockout of a show in Mumbai.
His zest and energy while performing live most definitely precedes his name as he is still on his way up but has seemed to catch the attention of a lot of glittering Indian eyes. His show was as insane as it could’ve been and the man himself was left unambiguously jubilant. We had the chance to catch up with him after his show and ended up chatting for a lot of things that Harvey Cantwell is all about.
He even went on to say that this was the best show he had ever done!
I did my first show in India last night in Mumbai…. I couldn’t be more thankful, not only did we sell out but the people were amazing… this was insane ❤️😘 thank you Mumbai 😍

GVO: Hey HRVY! How are you doing?
-I’m doing great, thanks.
GVO: This your first time in India, right?
-Yes, it is! It’s my 2nd day in India today, it feels great to be here.
GVO: That’s Cool. I saw some vids from your show the other day in Mumbai and it looked really, really sick! How do you feel right now?
-The show was amazing. I found the fans in Mumbai to be just so good. They’re so energetic. There were some really great moments in there. It was actually the best show I have ever done!
GVO: Were you surprised to see that you have so many fans in India? You’re based in London and you must feel pleased to come to a whole different part of the world and see so many people come out.
–It was just an amazing, amazing feeling to be there! It was such a massive show for me. It was a pretty big moment for me personally as it was my first international show. Great night.
GVO: You’re feeling pretty jiggy. You’re at a very nice place in your career, you just ended a sold-out tour. Where do you see yourself going from here?
-In 2018, I’m hoping to sell out more shows and release more music. So this time next year I just hope to be further along in the process. You know, music videos and all that. Just have a bigger fan base.

GVO: While you’ve been here in India did you have time to try any Indian delicacies?
-Yes, actually I really liked the Indian Pancake!
GVO: I’m sorry Indian pancake?
-The Dosa, I meant! I wanna eat it as much as I can.
GVO: Oh right. Anything else? We do have a pretty extensive cuisine out here. Thousand-year-old culture and all that jazz.
-I haven’t yet but I’ll take any referrals if you got any!
GVO: Anything spicy would blow you away, really.
GVO: People have often termed you the ”new Justin Timberlake’. Although I get where they’re coming from, what do you think about that?
-I love Justin Timberlake. He’s been a huge inspiration to me as a kid. He dances, he sings, he acts he does everything! People sometimes compare me to him. It’s quite a bit of pressure. I like it! He’s a legend.
GVO: JT’s most definitely a legend. So you obviously know a thing or two about going viral. Both of your EPs did great. Do you think all of it came rather easy to you or was it the other way around?
–Well, I have been doing this for a few years now. I have been doing this since I was 13. It definitely wasn’t easy. It was hard to put it all together, trying to go mainstream and getting views. It’s taken a while but I wanna get bigger one day so I’m gonna keep plugging away. It definitely doesn’t happen overnight.
GVO: If you could collaborate with any artist on the face of the earth, who would they be?
–Ed Sheeran definitely because he’s British and I really, really like him! Justin Timberlake, yeah.
GVO: Of course!
–Beyonce is truly amazing as well.
GVO: Across both of your EPs what would you say is your favourite track? Or one that really stood above the rest?
–I think I like Personal the best. It’s definitely the favourite track of mine!
GVO: How much longer are you going to be in India for?
–3-4 days, I think. I am definitely gonna come back. Towards the end of the year, I am going to be doing another run. It was a really cool trip.
GVO: Well, I guess that’s it for this time. We hope to see you live the next time you’re here. It’s been real, Harvey. Thanks so much.
–Yes, sure. Thank you, buddy! See ya.
