10 Festival Highs You Can Experience Without Being High

Posted at January 29th, 2016 | by Shivani Goel | in Entertainment, Music Festivals

When attending music festivals, a lot of people spend their time being high on alcohol or drugs and using the experience for an artificial high. If you want to live the festival in clarity and remember every moment, then here are some highs that you can experience sober as well!

Hearing a Song you Love being Played Live

Some artists you love, and some songs you love even more. Hearing a song that you’ve been listening to on loop being played live gives you goosebumps on another level.

Running into People you Know

At all the major music festivals that you go for, there have to be people that you run into unexpectedly. Whether it’s old friends from school, or acquaintances from your social life, it’s always nice seeing a familiar face in the crowd.

Lying on the Grass

You’re on your feet during most of the festival, so taking a breather and lying down in the grass with the music surrounding you is a moment you’ll definitely cherish and remember.

Getting Clicked by a Photographer

With the host of photographers circulating in the crowd and finding interesting things to click, it’s great to realize that you’ve been featured in a picture or two. It’s not always easy finding yourself in the albums later, but if you do, then you get a crazy HD picture of yourself enjoying the festivities!

Meeting a much loved Musician

The many many artists that are playing at such festivals don’t just do their sets and jet off. They usually hang around before and after to soak in the atmosphere, and it’s the perfect opportunity for you to be the adoring fan.

Singing along with a Thumping crowd

During a particularly engrossing performance, the crowd goes viral. To be in the middle of the thumping audience, with you hands in the air, grooving to the music with hundreds of people, is an experience that you have to live to know.

Going on Rides or doing other Fun Activities

Most music festivals organize other fun activities for their attendees. From amusement park rides, to life-size games, there is a lot more going on for you to explore. Some of these things can be quite unique, so it’s great fun to try out new things.

Meeting Interesting People

Music festivals are exactly the sort of places that attract an eccentric crowd. You won’t find such interesting characters in your 9 to 5 desk job. Meeting and interacting with unique people from all over is a great experience.

Listening to a Crazy Track before it’s Released

Some Musicians give a sneak peek of their upcoming tracks or albums at a live show as a teaser. You may hear a track that you absolutely love, and when it’s finally released you’ll be one of the first people who heard it Live!

Spending a few days in an Alternate Universe

When you’re staying on site at a music festival, it’s like a different world all together. Full of music, eccentric people, all-night schedules, and fun parties. It’s hard to tear yourself away from this world when it’s over and go back to normal life.
