There are a lot of philanthropic EDM DJs who have also stepped up to make this world a better place to live in some way or the other. Powered by The Monk, an exclusive eyewear brand that believes one random act of kindness can go a long way, here are some dance music stalwarts that have made a difference over the years.

Diplo

The Las Vegas shooting left 58 dead and nearly 500 injured at the Route 91 Harvest music festival. Diplo challenged his friends to come forward and donate the money which directly went to the families of the affected. After he made a contribution of $100,000, artists followed the suite; Steve Aoki and Tiesto bestowed $200,000 each, Dillon Francis split his $100,000 between victims of Las Vegas and Puerto Rico hurricane relief. More artists like Valentino Khan, Calvin Harris, The Chainsmokers and Kaskade chipped in with their individual contributions.

Steve Angello

Angello runs a charity by the name of Size Foundation which focuses on education and empowerment of children as well as young adults. Recently, the former Swedish House Mafia member gave away $5K to a young girl in need of liver transplant!

Calvin Harris
