The iconic DJs Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, who are (partly) famous for their robotic style headwear said goodbye to each other, and their fans in the desert just before one of them self-destructed.
The pair formed Daft Punk in Paris in 1993, the group brought the French underground to the world with tracks like One More Time, Da Funk and Around The World.
Rather than a being a fan of costumes, the reasoning behind their on stage attire was due to being intensely publicity-shy, unlike many celebrities today, it was rare to see the musicians in public (or online) without their trademark headgear which reportedly cost over $65,000.
We’ll miss you, and we’re sure we speak for everyone who was looking forward to a Daft Punk 2021 tour that it came as a bit of a shock, but all good things must come to an end.
