Bolly Odd Beats: Giving an Indian Tadka to Popular Dance Music Compositions

Posted at April 20th, 2015 | by PulkitTaneja | in

How many times have you been on the dance floor at a club and wanted to do that Bollywood moves  you love to this famous song the DJ plays, but you JUST didn’t know how to synchronize the moves with the beats! I know I’ve wanted to (Always wanting to start off with a little bhangra to a Skrillex drop).

There is one such individual who understands the woes of people like us – who loves all genres of music and yet cannot let go of the Desiness that runs in our veins. Rohit Bharati, a talented individual based out of Dubai, whose motto in life is to ‘EAT, SLEEP, BOLLYWOOD, REPEAT’, is gaining popularity via his YouTube channel where he posts clips from various Bollywood movies blended with popular English dance numbers.  His work includes combining Sunny Deol’s iconic Yaara o Yaara dance moves with everyone’s favorite Martin Garrix hit Animals (just makes so much sense doesn’t it?) and the much parodied Dhal Gaya Din badminton scene with AVB’s Ping Pong.  The videos aren’t simply an English song placed over a Bollywood clip. Rohit actually pays a lot of attention to detail, by editing the video in a manner that it synchronizes perfectly with the audio which feels as if it was an actual video for the song! And he doesn’t just produce videos with English music over Bollywood clips, he does it the other way around too. Check out his version of Single Ladies meets Wajleh ki Baara, it will surely crack you up.

This is what happens when Sunny Deol and Martin Garrix come together:

This one will sweep you off your feet. Desi dance on Calvin Harris- Blame.
