Axl Rose is the New Frontman of AC/DC

AC/DC rescheduled their tour dates earlier this year after the band’s vocalist Brian Johnson was advised by doctors to stop touring immediately or risk total hearing loss. Soon following the news, pictures of Axl Rose in studio with AC/DC surfaced and now the band confirmed that Axl Rose would be joining the band for their Rock or Bust World Tour. Yesterday, AC/DC officially announced the departure of longtime frontman Brian Johnson and his replacement by Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose.

In a recent press release, AC/DC issues this statement “AC/DC band members would like to thank Brian Johnson for his contributions and dedication to the band throughout the years. We wish him all the best with his hearing issues and future ventures.  As much as we want this tour to end as it started, we understand, respect and support Brian’s decision to stop touring and save his hearing.  We are dedicated to fulfilling the remainder of our touring commitments to everyone that has supported us over the years, and are fortunate that Axl Rose has kindly offered his support to help us fulfill this commitment.

Looks like Axl Rose is having a busy schedule. He recently got back together with his Guns N’ Roses band mates onstage at Coachella and is gearing up for band’s upcoming summer portion of the Not in This Lifetime Tour, which kicks off June 23 in Detroit.

Moreover, now it looks more than just coincidence that AC/DC’s Angus Young performed with Guns N’ Roses at Coachella on Saturday night. Check out the performance below:
