Asia’s Ultimate Boat Party To Set Sail in 2016

Shipsomnia, a music and arts festival that meets a high seas mythical adventure is here. Hot on the heels of the cancellation of Future Music Festival Asia, comes the announcement of this 5 day-­‐4 night luxurious cruise from Singapore that doubles up as a music festival with world class DJs and parties at some of Asia’s hippest tourist destinations.

 

A brainchild of Singapore’s Mad Fresh Events, the 5 day festival cruise will set off from Singapore, stop over at Phuket and Langkawi for beach parties and travel tours before heading back. At a cost of about US $2.5 million, the grand festival will take place on board the Costa Victoria each year with a creative and fun theme. The inaugural storyline for 2016 happens to be ‘The Search For Lost Rhythms’, and while it is easy to get caught up in regular nautical themes such as pirates and what-­‐not, Shipsomnia keeps it fresh with a steampunk theme which reflects even on their website.
 

 
With an expectancy of 2,400 people on the boat with elaborate stage productions by teams from Belgium and South Africa, Shipsomnia offers the best of both worlds in the form of a music festival with 30 of the hottest DJs on the decks, quite literally, on your luxury vacation. Shipsomnia has also tied up with some of the hottest clubs in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Thailand to host promotional parties.
 
The one of a kind experience is set to begin just after New Years’ and there couldn’t be a better way to kick start 2016. Reservations for the festival begin mid May and while the lineup isn’t out yet, the Tomorrowland-­‐esque teaser video has got us just as excited.
