Dance Music is an ever growing industry there is no flat lining when it comes to this. But as it grows to gargantuan proportions, when you disassemble it you’ll find out how much it is similar to pop in terms of amazing artists being overlooked. And while a lot of these are on their bike with their rise to stardom, they’re massively underrated if you try to decipher how much their talent is worth. Check out our list of these underrated artists below.
Signed on San Holo’s Bitbird label, Droeloe is a gem in the studio. His style resembles that of his label boss except for them being unique in their own way. The dutch duo broke onto the scene in 2016 with their sturdy trap anthem Make My Day.
Definitely one of the more popular ones in this list, Kayzo is a bass-loving maniac who tears shit up. He’s been there for quite a while but the last few months have been monumental for him.
When you see an Ekali remix on Soundcloud, you hit play no matter how preoccupied you are. Ekali is as quintessential as up & comers get. Check out his remix for Snakeships & MO.
A significant addition to NCS’ new wave of up & comers that they’ve taken on, one of the most complete artists that we’ve laid eyes upon.
Joyryde is under Skrillex’s wing and he’s already one of OWSLA’s best and brightest. If you love wobbly basslines and shuffled percussion, you’re guaranteed to love this guy.
Rezz is all the buzz, she burst onto the scene not that long ago and has been stepping it up ever since then. Signed onto her mentor’s label she is magic in the studio.
7. Romeo Blanco
Another artist on the rise, Romeo Blanco is great producer but you’ll really see his aura behind the decks. He has played at some inordinate festivals around the globe including Zook, Summer Festival & Tomorrowland.
8. Young Bombs
Canadian duo Young Bombs haven’t made it to the big leagues by any unit of measurement but they are on their way. They are essentially remix merchants at this point, they’ve remixed everything from Fifth Harmony to G-Eazy.
Kevin Andrew Chapman is an up & comer from LA rowing the future house boat along with Atlantic Records. He’s got over 50 milli plays on his Soundcloud handle and is blowing up.
10. Alex Cruz
The dutch producer is a deep house ace, or at least is going to turn out the other end as one. Depth and layers is what the guy works with and he’s mind-blowing. Check out Sweet Child below.
Trap Nation favourite T-Mass is killing it as a producer. He is one of the best future bass producers in the game and his remixes are holier than thou. A trap lord in the making. Check out Drink Over You.
12. Culture Code
Another brilliant remix merchant who was inspired by Adventure Club and not much later he was given the opportunity to remix Adventure Club’s Wait which put him on the map.
Cesqeaux has been on the block for a long time. He’s dipped his toes in lots of genres, anything from Future Bass to filthy jungle Trap. He has released a ton of albums over the years, check out his collab with San Holo.
14. Barely Alive
The most recent masked crusader in the Dance Music universe, Barely Alive is one of the mst scintillating and fastest growing acts in the last year or so. They duo have had collabs with Getter, Zomboy and many more.
K?d has been on a fastrack for the last few months. He attended EDC LV for the first time last year and he’s playing at the Cosmic Meadow stage this year. His rise has been meteoric and deservedly so. He’s exquisite.
