In a surprise announcement, Shailendra Singh released a countdown clock to what he claims will be ‘the biggest entertainment-for-good event on the planet’. After 30 years captaining Percept, and establishing a solid connect with the youth through Sunburn, his new offering is to make a positive social impact through entertainment. “Music has the power to make a social difference,” says Shailendra. “In 2016, through the Guestlist concept, we were able to raise money to educate 38,200 children on the Magic Bus program. In 2017, our goal is much bigger. So big, we’ve even renamed ourselves – Guestlist4Good – in order to prove that we have a clear, focused mission: entertainment-for- good.”
The launch event – the World’s Biggest Guestlist, featuring Hardwell – was a game changing event for the world. Hardwell, world #1 at the time, performed for free, so that 100,000 fans could attend the event for free. The profits of the event were used to educate 18,200 children on the Magic Bus program. The second event, Martin Garrix’s (the current world #1 DJ) charity event in Mumbai, raised enough funds to pull another 10,000 children out of poverty. A further 10,000 children will be educated through the #Guetta4Good concert happening in January.
“Our mission is simple,” says Shailendra. “Entertain. Educate. Empower. Through global events with a heart, we will revolutionize live entertainment for fans around the world. While doing this, with the help of domestic and international artists, we raise money to educate hundreds of thousands of children through the Magic bus programme. And through Guestlist4Good, we are empowering artists and fans to make a social difference, just by doing what they love to do anyway!”
