SoundCloud have rolled out SoundCloud Premier which will allow producers to get paid for streaming. A much needed feature that SoundCloud hadn’t concocted yet. It’s focusing on supporting independent artist and engaging more and more fans through out the platform.

“DJs and producers are an integral part of the SoundCloud ecosystem, sharing thousands of new tracks on the platform every day. This is why we’re especially psyched to share today’s news.”

“Revenue that’s generated through ads and subscription payments by consumers is divided up and paid out based on how content is consumed.” Chief content officer, Stephen Bryan said earlier.

The service is invite only as of now and will be based on ‘share of engagement’ and ‘listening time’. Soundcloud is working on expanding this asap. A source said that Chance The Rapper, 21 Savage, Metro Boomin and many more are already on the payroll.
