Their style is a mixpot of a lot of influences ranging from ballroom waltz to gypsy jazz to very Bollywood-like scores of car chase sequences. Think 60’s and 70’s Bollywood music, which in turn was inspired by 50’s American music like soul and big band. Accompanying this diverse range of sounds, their lyrics revolve around things like deception, prostitutes, android artists, and films coming to life. They don’t stick to any genres and the description of their music ranges from disco to experimental dark to post depression-era cabaret. All the members play in side projects and bring their own personalities and influences to the group, culminating in something truly unique.

They’ve released 3 Albums so far; Sinema in 2011, Wall of Want in 2012, and Climax! in 2015. Sinema’s most popular song was Love Demons. Check out the music video below to get an idea of how surreal and brilliant their music and style is.

Sticking to their uniqueness, when they released their 2015 album Climax!, they announced that it wont be released in a CD format, but PCRC had something else to offer the crowd at the gigs they played before the album launch. A red velvet ring box with the band logo on it and a red pill inside containing the download code for the album, along with a postcard featuring the album artwork. Frontman Suryakant Sawhney joked that it was cheaper to buy boxes and pills than to bulk print CD’s. Climax is on a different level altogether, there is a lot of slow-waltz and vintage-loving in this album. There isn’t anything as energetic as Love Demons, but it does offer you slow jams like Copulations and I’m Home.

A truly unique band, they’ve played gigs all across the country including sets at Magnetic Fields Festival and popular Food festivals as well. Check out their website for details on their upcoming tours and albums, and definitely check them out live if you get the chance!
