When Gurbax released his track ‘Boom Shankar’ two years ago, he decided to go in a unique direction for the music video by curating an entire music festival to feature as one of the sets of the video and crowd-fund the entire project. The concept of the festival spawned from the storyline of the music video and the final scene involves shots from the actual festival itself. It ended up becoming India’s 1st fully crowdfunded music festival, called the ‘Boom Shankar Festival’ in Bangalore where the contributors to the campaign got a ticket attend the festival and feature in the video as well.
The music video just released yesterday and shows the journey of the Boom Shankar – king of all Sadhus to a Gurbax show. We already loved the track with it’s unique, raw vibe, and the music video is just perfection. Check it out below and tell us what you think!
This year, the Boom Shankar Festival is getting a total re-branding and scaling up. Renamed the Hidden Shades Festival – it’s due to happen in the second half of the year. Also launching is the Hidden Shades Showcase, which is going to be a club show property with the first event on February 10th at The Humming Tree, Bangalore featuring one of the hottest bass music artists in the world, as a part of his India tour.
