Genix, a UK based DJ and Producer, has over 10 years of experience in the EDM industry and during this spell he has performed alongside some of the biggest names in the field like Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, and Sander Van Doorn to name a few. In fact, in 2005, he even set the Guinness World Record for the longest DJ set in history, performing for an unimaginable 84 hours.

Levente Márton  or Sunny Lax as most might know him by, is yet another exceptionally experienced artist in the world of Trance music. He began production at the age of 13 and has never looked back ever since, releasing tracks like P.U.M.A, Levente, M.I.R.A and a whole lot more .

Before the Anjuna Boys went on for their b2b set, we managed to catch up with them for a short interview.

GVO: How does it feel for you to be part of Anjunabeats, one of the biggest Trance Labels out there?

Genix: It’s nice! Its a world famous label spearheaded by some super star DJs called Above and Beyond. So its a big involvement with those guys and a really nice feeling.

Sunny Lax: Anjunabeats is about Professionalism and it’s truly an honor to be a part of this.

GVO:Would you’ll like to perform with any other Trance acts individually and if yes who?

Genix: I’d like to see how Andrew Bayers works in the studio just cause he is a musical genius and I’d love to see his techniques and the way he makes things. I would also say Sander Van Doorn and his music and older stuff so maybe him.

Sunny Lax: I would say Andrew Bayers as he is a f*****g genius so definitely him and Matzo too .

GVO: How would you’ll describe your music ?

Genix: Emotions , might sound cheesy , but its all about emotions . Music that reaches you and truly connects with you .

Sunny Lax: I like the beats of the dirt as well with a bit of dirty bass lines and the nasty and nice. *chuckles*

GVO: What are your thoughts on Trance in India?

Genix: Well iv not seen too much of it just as yet. So the Trance stage is today and we are going to check out of course when we DJ. But yeh we have received a lot of tweets and emails and messages overall through social media from people who have traveled so far to see us play. So the people here know about the music, they know about our songs, they know about Anjuna beats, they know about trance. That’s always a scary thing about going to another country cause you sometimes don’t know. But everyone here seems intelligent music wise, so its exciting to perform to the crowd today.

GVO: Well sadly Trance is not one of the predominant genres here in India. Do you foresee a change for the better, for the Trance scene here in India?

Sunny Lax: A change is not going to happen. I hope it does though.

Genix: I think its underground. I mean all the house music is so crossover and commercialised so it reaches out to a wide amount of people. Whereas trance, in my opinion, is better but a little more underground and as Sunny mentioned we have dedicated fans, people who travel far just to listen to your set. I mean as an artist you want to be DJing to people who know your music and they experience that time and moment with you.

GVO: One last question, What’s your favourite dish?

Genix: All of it. *chuckles*
