The Chainsmokers and Coldplay are two of the top musical acts in the world right now, literally. So them coming together for a track is as major as it gets. They’ve been teasing the collab for just a short while with some beautiful artwork and we’ve really been looking forward to it. It’s finally out now and has already taken over the internet, so if you haven’t heard it yet, check it out below, the lyric video is much more than just a lyric video.

I think it’s great, but also not. We have some key, signature elements from both acts reflecting very well in the track so you end up liking it because of your love for Coldplay and The Chainsmokers. Chris Martin‘s vocals and The Chainsmokers synths (which sounds ridiculously similar to their earlier track ‘Roses’) are both great, and this track will probably do well, but it’s not brilliant, which is what you would expect from this collaboration.

That’s not to say that it isn’t gorgeous to see Coldplay and The Chainsmokers performing on the stage together. Chris Martin lights up the room with his energy as he always does. Drew is on the guitar and Alex plays on the keyboard and synths and the overall production and stage design is amazing at the 2017 Brit Awards. When played live, it’s hard not to get caught up in the track, but we were really hoping for something more.
